This is the third title in a row for the Pumas of Piedra Plat. Sporting reached the final in their first ever season in the top-flight, a fantastic achievement for both clubs

The much-troubled season of the Division di Honor finally came to an end about two months later than expected. A season that already started very late and due to litigations in the final month, could not end the season in a timely fashion prior to this year’s World Cup, ended in an anti-climactic final in front of a small crowd at the GP Trinidad stadium.

Yet, it is worth to say that Britannia proved once more that they are the best team and the champions of this year, their third title in a row, a grand achievement at any level.

Reangelo Boekhoudt found the net first for the Pumas at minute 47 (Britannia 1-0 Sporting). Not long after that the defender Edhyon Hersilia added to Britannia’s advantage (Britannia 2-0 Sporting). The game tightened with an own goal by the same Hersilia not long after his heroics with the 2nd goal, an unfortunate moment where the strong wind affected the situation (Britannia 2-1 Sporting). At minute 88 Britannia got a penalty where Pieter Susebeek added the icing on the cake by scoring the penalty kick (Britannia 3-1 Sporting). That was also the final score.

Britannia once more champions of Aruba, a three-peat! a job well done by coach Renier Paraez and company, his third title in as many years at the helm of the Pumas of Piedra Plat, congratulations to both clubs.
