La Fama had the game in control for a good 70 minutes but then it got too close for comfort

Division Honor 2025-2026 started. Savaneta club La Fama was comfortably winning 2-0, after goals in the 20th minute by Jair Farro and Timothe Makanzu at minute 39. They were almost in cruise control, exactly what new head coach Jean-Luc Bergen wanted in his debut as a coach in the Division di Honor. Heck, Estrella was even getting frustrated at one point, but La Fama couldn’t put the game away with so many misses and in such close range and so started to lose focus from the 70th minute on.
At that point even when Estrella had no answer at all, but Adrian Donayre and the defense kept them in the game. Lando Everon, Estrella’s strategist, decided to make a few player changes. He brought in veteran Jackson Theophile, Marshel Kock and Kevin Peña, which brought in more pressure on La Fama, causing more turnovers by the Savaneta squad. Estrella starting to get more approach suddenly, leading also to their first goal at the 80th minute by Kevin Peña himself, cutting La Fama’s advantage, and in an instant La Fama was on the ropes and very nervous about it all, how did that happen? that is football in the top league.
At the end of the game it got too tense, even with two send offs, one for each team. La Fama won after all, by a minimum difference, but they will take the three points, once they have all their players available, when the younger players get the feel of the competition, they can compete for top four. Estrella fought back, with little, but they battled at the end and was close to snatching a point from the game.
